I thought long and hard and I just don’t have it in me to stand in front of a ton of people and talk about the music industry so I canceled my “guest speaker” appearance at my old University this fall. It was bad timing with the opening of our new venue and my trip to Europe anyway, so I told them maybe next time.

But lets be honest - the truth of the matter is that I have no interest in going back to Denver. I’m not sure if I ever will. I miss all of my old friends there, but my Denver closet is full of skeletons that I don’t want to face. The past is behind me, the future is beautiful, I want to let it be what it is. Why rock the boat?

On any given day there are too many amazing fun things to do and I can’t fit it all in. Which one of my favorite bands should I go see and which can I afford to miss? Or should it be comedy? But what about that lecture and book signing? And don’t forget that party. Maybe I can fit that one in after the beach.
